At Arden Place of Beeville, our Immune-Complex Program provides treatment and care for patients who have been diagnosed as HIV positive. HIV is a type of virus called a retrovirus which attacks the body’s immune system. Patients admitted with an HIV/AIDS diagnosis may have medical complications including:
- Infections
- Pneumonia
- Malnutrition
- Weakness and general wasting
HIV/AIDS treatment involves taking medicines that slow the progression of the virus in the body. Our caring staff utilizes specialized clinical pathways to ensure the highest possible patient outcomes whenever possible.
Additionally, we offer access to multi-specialty physicians and care providers, as well as patient-centered approaches such as peer support groups, social services, and individualized physical rehabilitation programs.
We encourage patients and their families to be active and participate in all facets of their care, including our weekly interdisciplinary patient care meetings.
